An Independent "Unity for Change" Campaign for the Senate |
I'm
running for U.S. Senate because the two major parties no longer
represent the interests of most Americans. A recent poll described in
July 16 th Economist, asked voters if they thought their elected
officials represented their priorities. Only 17 percent said yes. And,
if we look at the policies being put in place by those in office we
repeatedly see that the American people are correct – their views are
unrepresented. Read more... |

Voting brings out mixed emotions in me. Part of me agrees with a former
professor of mine who was an anarchist, who said in class, “Don't vote,
it only encourages them (corrupt politicians).” Part of me wants to vote
because so many of my people died to acquire and maintain the right to
vote, despite my disdain for most of the names that show up on the
ballot. I force myself to vote in every election for some basic reasons.
Neighborhoods that vote in significant numbers on a regular basis tend
to get better service from government. The politicians for the most part
only respond to campaign contributions, votes, and pressure ranging from
calls and letters to civil disobedience and disruption of business as usual.

The Only Anti-War Candidate |

Candidate Profile: U.S. Senate: Kevin Zeese By LETICIA LINN, Capital News Service http://somd.com/news/headlines/2006/4753.shtml
WASHINGTON - Intensity defines Kevin Zeese's actions -- from his culinary abilities to his passionate commitment to politics outside the two main parties.
Even though he is a distant third in the polls in Maryland's U.S. Senate race, he is running to win.
Zeese, 51, who considers himself as the only anti-war candidate and is representing an unprecedented three parties in Tuesday's election, is trying to break into a campaign largely divided between Democrat Rep. Ben Cardin and Republican Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, with no more than $60,000 in his pocket. |

Zeese offers real solutions, not status quo |
|
Friday, 03 November 2006 |
The Baltimore Sun http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.zeese03nov03,0,5092503.story
By Patsy Allen Originally published November 3, 2006
Three political parties in Maryland, the Green, Libertarian and Populist parties, have done something highly unusual in U.S. political history: We have nominated the same candidate for the U.S. Senate, Kevin Zeese. This "Unity Campaign" is also supported by Democrats, Republicans and independents. Why? Our country is facing serious problems not being addressed by the status quo parties. Our economy is at risk from massive trade deficits, record federal deficits, a constantly rising U.S. debt and record-high personal debt. The growing rich-poor divide is shrinking the middle class, while poverty rises and the wealthiest accumulate riches beyond the needs of any family. We are engaged in an occupation of Iraq that neither major party is able to lead us out of.
